Vital Visions: The Vedala Brothers Podcast
Norman Regional Health System’s Krishna Vedala, MD, MBA, MPH, Dipl. ABOM and Raghuveer Vedala, MD, FAAFP, Dipl. ABOM discuss trending healthcare topics through conversations on Vital Visions: The Vedala Brothers Podcast.
The Norman Regional providers, and brothers, hope to use their podcast to help patients start conversations with their primary care provider about difficult questions they may have. No topics are off-limits as the Vedala brothers hope to foster open communication for improved patient-centered care.
Vital Visions with the Vedala Brothers is a project that the physicians have wanted to start for a while, dating back to their days in medical school. With the Vedalas’ dream for this podcast coming to life, they will be able to bridge the gap between providers and patients, providing helpful and valuable information to the public.

18: Orthopedic Surgery and Joint Replacement
The Vedalas sit down with Lauren Pratt, PA-C, MS, MHS of Norman Regional’s Ortho Central to learn more about Orthopedic Surgery. The three get into more conversation, covering topics like physician assistant school vs. medical school, Lauren’s career path, commonly treated orthopedic injuries, total joint replacement, and more. This episode speaks to both students and patients, as they cover it all from being a physician assistant to orthopedic care.
Guest Host Bio:
Lauren Pratt, PA-C, MS, MHS, is a board-certified physician assistant working alongside Dr. Jeremiah Maupin at Ortho Central’s Norman and Midwest City locations. Lauren attended the University of Oklahoma and earned her master’s degree in exercise physiology and worked with the pediatric diabetes research team for seven years before attending physician assistant school.
Special interests:
Lauren has had experiences with orthopedic surgery herself due to running injuries and has always been interested in the specialty. “The opportunity to help another patient get back out there doing what they love - whether it's running or hiking or simply being able to bend down and pick up their grandchild, that is a special opportunity I'm happy to play a part in,” said Lauren.
She enjoys the personal connection she can make with patients as a physician assistant. Her patients can expect a provider who will listen and be a valuable resource in helping them accomplish their goals.
