The Norman Regional providers, and brothers, hope to use their podcast to help patients start conversations with their primary care provider about difficult questions they may have. No topics are off-limits as the Vedala brothers hope to foster open communication for improved patient-centered care.
Vital Visions with the Vedala Brothers is a project that the physicians have wanted to start for a while, dating back to their days in medical school. With the Vedalas’ dream for this podcast coming to life, they will be able to bridge the gap between providers and patients, providing helpful and valuable information to the public.

Vital Visions: The Vedala Brothers Podcast is brought to you by Norman Regional Health System, a multi-campus system that serves the healthcare needs of south central Oklahoma. 24: Robotic Surgery
Robotic Surgery may be a mystery to some, but for John Chace, MD, he knows the robotic surgery ins and outs like the back of his hand. Board Certified General Surgeon Dr. Chace of Norman Regional’s Oklahoma Surgical Associates joins the Vedala Brothers and guest host Christa Bellack, MD to talk about the intricacies of robotic surgery and how the tool has advanced minimally invasive surgery.
The four discuss the types of surgeries that can be performed robotically, the de Vinci Surgical System, how robotic surgery affects insurance reimbursements and the benefits of robotic surgery. John B. Chace, MD is a board-certified general surgeon at Oklahoma Surgical Associates. Dr. Chace has been providing his surgical skills to the community since 2005. He graduated from the University of Nebraska College of Medicine and completed his residency at Wright State University in Dayton, Ohio.
